Okay so the title is pretty poor – I’ll give you that, but I found a new style of doodling that I really love. There’s lots of pictures on pinterest, blogs etc that have words which make a shape – like a heart made out of the word love in lots of languages, which are cute. But I wanted to do something a bit different, so I decided to try and make words out of shapes, and I am really pleased with the result.
You will need: colourful biro pens, paper, pencil and a rubber.
First of all draw out your word outline in pencil, you could write a name, a quote, whatever, just make sure it’s in bubble writing. This one is a lyric from a song we had at our wedding. Then start to draw little squiggles in one colour, varying in size, almost like zebra print. Use your other colours and do the same – I wouldn’t use more than 5 colours. Keep adding squiggles to the picture, filling the gaps between each line with more lines. Make the squiggles around the letters more dense than the outside. When you think you have done enough, hold the picture at a distance and see whether the words are readable, if they are rub out the pencil lines and that’s it.
Enjoy, Love Mrs Gardom
